I will always remember Ed as someone with a gruff exterior, but a heart of gold! I was referred to him when I came to Virginia Masonry from another jurisdiction and wanted to learn the MM catechism. I was not sure what to expect at first as he seemed to cranky in Lodge. However, I soon came to love and respect him as a father figure who was truly interested in my advancement in Masonry. He mentored me all the way through my year as Master of Mt. Carmel. He made sure I could confer all three degrees and knew all the lectures. I was so proud he was the Installing Officer for my installation. Almost everything I know about Masonry, I owe to him. His departure leaves a mighty big hole in my heart and I miss him terribly!
